Kriek Mythology (en Fade to Black)
De beide kersenmedes hebben afgelopen weekend hun fruit toegevoegd gekregen. Ze zijn dus -op een paar kleine tweaks na- zo goed als bottelklaar.
Kriek Mythology is een mede met zure kersen, of krieken. De mede is heerlijk fris van smaak met een ton fruit in de nasmaak.
Fade to Black is met zoete kersen gemaakt. De smaak is zachter, bijna fluweelachtig. Als je beide medes tegen het licht houdt zal je zien dat Fade to Black iets donkerder is dan Kriek Mythology.
Beide medes worden later deze maand gebotteld. Eerst moeten mijn ribben nog herstellen. Long story. Ik ben gaan crossen met the Blacksmith’s offspring en ben er met harde hand op gewezen dat ik geen 18 meer ben. Aw. Het gaat ondertussen al wel weer wat beter en bottelday is dus niet veraf meer. Hoop ik.
Kriek Mythology (and Fade to Black)
Both our cherry meads have had their fruit added last weekend. Apart fromp a few tweaks, both are almost ready to get bottled.
Kriek Mythology is a tart cherry -or krieken, as we say in our neck of the woods- mead. It’s deliciously crisp and tart with a ton of fruit in the after taste.
Fade to Black is made with sweet cherries. It has a sweeter, almost velvety taste. If you hold both meads up to the light you’ll notice that Fade to Black is a bit darker than Kriek Mythology.
Both these meads will be bottled later this month. But first my ribs have to heal. Long story. I went mountain biking with the Blacksmith’s offspring and got a stern reminder that I’m not 18 anymore. Aw. It’s getting a little better each day so botte lday is looming on the horizon. I hope.
